Admission in Navodaya Vidyalaya are made at level of Class VI through a test conducted by CBSE on all India basis. Till 1998, the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) was conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The medium of the test is in 20 Indian languages and is largely non-verbal and objective in nature and is so designed that talented children from rural areas are able to compete without suffering a disadvantage. All the children who have studied in and passed from Class V from any recognized school of that district and are between 9 to 13 years of age are eligible to appear.

As per the Scheme, a maximum of 80 students can be admitted in Class VI per year in a JNV. However, in view of shortage of accommodation in some schools the intake capacity has been fixed to 40 per year. Our Vidyalaya is functioning in temporary site due to that reason intake is 40 students per year.

Admission in the Vidyalaya is made through Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) in Class VI. Application of forms at free of cost through Inspector of Schools and Sub inspector of Schools (BEO) are distributed to the primary schools of district having class V. The Selection Test is conducted by C.B.S.E. at the selected centers of the district fixed by Inspector of Schools on the second Sunday of February every year. Admission is done in the month of June. The system of lateral entry in Class IX and Class XI after a Selection Test also prevails for filling up the vacant seats in the class. This year 2012 JNVST Registration is 6936.
